Olá! Este blog coloca ao acesso de todos a extensa pesquisa empreendida pelo autor desde o ano 2000 no intuito de publicar seu primeiro trabalho editorial, O RIO QUE O RIO NÃO VÊ – OS SÍMBOLOS E SEUS SIGNIFICADOS NA ARQUITETURA CIVIL DO CENTRO DA CIDADE DO RIO DE JANEIRO, lançado em abril de 2012 pela Aori Produções Culturais.
Como o nome do livro sugere, o blog se baseia, principalmente, na prática arquitetônica vigente no Brasil, em princípios do início do Século XX, de dotar os imóveis de um programa iconográfico capaz de conferir-lhes uma identidade ideológica a partir da simples observação de sua fachada. A pesquisa para o livro classificou quase 1000 desses ornamentos presentes nas diferentes fachadas do Centro da cidade e adjacências.
Em cada postagem o autor procura fornecer dados acerca do projeto do imóvel, bem como dos ornamentos envolvidos, seus usos originais e atuais. A pesquisa tentou, sempre que possível, lançar alguma luz sobre os nomes dos responsáveis pela execução dos projetos e dos ornamentistas da fachada. Nesse sentido, é valiosa qualquer informação sobre esses profissionais pioneiros.

Hi! This blog gives everyone access to the wide research carried out by the author since 2000 in the pursuit of publishing his first book, O RIO QUE O RIO NÃO VÊ – OS SÍMBOLOS E SEUS SIGNIFICADOS NA ARQUITETURA CIVIL DO CENTRO DA CIDADE DO RIO DE JANEIRO (RIO THAT RIO DOESN´T SEE – THE SYMBOLS AND THEIR MEANINGS IN DOWNTOWN RIO DE JANEIRO´S CIVIL ARCHITECTURE), published in april 2012 by Aori Produções Culturais.
As the book title suggests, the blog is based mainly on the architectonical practice that ruled during the first decades of the 20th Century in Brazil, providing the buildings with an iconographic programme able to grant them an ideological identity from the simple observation of their façades´ ornament set. The research has already compiled almost 1000 of these ornaments present in the many Downtown Rio façades.
In each post the author seeks to provide information about the building´s project, its original and present uses, as well as the involved ornaments. The research goal is to elucidate, whenever possible, the names of architects, constructors and ornament artists. Any contribution about this pioneers, therefore, is greatly valuable.
